JAN DYNTERA
HOW TO MOVE FORWARD
22. 3. – 6. 5. 2018
How to move forward? How to become a superhero? How to make butter or how to slim thighs? In his unique project for Fotografic, Jan Dyntera dives into depths of virtual space to explore deconstruction of image of most popular search terms to introduce the abstract visual version of it. In critical moments of connection loss, various pictures are transformed into simple monochromatic patchworks which are then converted by the artist into abstract images using a specific method and large format camera. Dyntera however “moves the resulting image forward” as he contemplates over obvious questions of what, how and why we browse the net, to what extent we believe in internet sources, including widespread fake news, what is the impact of digitization on individuals or how the internet will look like in the future.
Jan Dyntera (*1974) explores interactions of analog and digital and searches for new methods of expression in modern photography. He completed his studies of photography at the Institute of Creative Photography, Faculty of Philosophy and Science, Silesian University in Opava. He lives and works in Prague. www.dyntera.com
