LENKA KLEINOVÁ, LUKÁŠ PROCHÁZKA
REPAIRED AND RECONSTRUCTED
(DUE TO COVID-19 TEMPORARILY CLOSED)
Nowadays requires perfect visual self-presentation. Nothing but perfection is allowed. We decompose and reconnect the form of the person portrayed, we choose only the best, we repaint the ugliness, we complete the ideal. Do we automatically assume that what we see is a faithfully portrayed reality? In their current projects, Lenka Kleinová and Lukáš Procházka fascinatingly explore the hidden layers of the phenomenon of contemporary post-production. They venture self-reflexively under the surface of their own work and, during digital retouching of a normal portrait, extract a layer covering the skin imperfections. From the pure functionality serving the perfect presentation, an aesthetic image itself is created, which, moreover, succinctly presents the history and scope of the post-production intervention.
Lenka Kleinová (* 1996) and Lukáš Procházka (* 1994) come from Slovakia, but they met while studying photography at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Similarly oriented projects led them to a joint exhibition, which, in addition to Galerie Fotografic, they presented, for example, at the Uničov photo festival. They live and work in Prague and Zlín. www.pro-chazka.com / www.lenkafufi.eu
