ROBERT HOUZAR

PRESSURE

21. 6. – 23. 7. 2017

Manifestation of human existence is the main subject of Robert Houzar’s work. He strives to perceive this from the furthest possible vantage point. In order to examine nothing less than the vastness of human civilisation, Robert attempts to distance himself from emotionality, sentimentality and learned patterns of thinking inherent in the conventional insider’s perspective. By reshaping of ‘mass materials’, exemplified in what remains of ground plastics particles or cracks in the lithosphere after a multitude of nuclear tests he creates entirely new architectural landscapes redefined in both form and substance. He bombards the urban conglomerations, its centres, suburban traffic junctions and engineering networks in order to deconstruct, deform, layer and expose them into his own digital seismic pressures.
Robert Houzar (1975) is a Czech artist working using the media of manipulated photography, computer collage and sound installation. He exhibits in the Czech Republic and abroad. His work is represented in private collections around the world. Robert lives and works in Prague. www.roberthouzar.com
