EXHIBITION: 27. 2. – 12. 4. 2025

The season at the Fotografic Gallery will open with a group exhibition featuring students from the Studio of Imaginative Photography at FAMU Prague, led by Rudo Prekop and Nina Šperanda. The participating artists—Eva Brvar, Iman Čordalija, Aleks Herc, Zofia Kaczmarczyk, Rong Li, Ema Mihálová, Barbora Nosková, Jakub Pavlík and Vojtěch Plhák—collectively explore the question of what forms the “sacred” can take today. The resulting exhibition presents a diverse range of perspectives, from sincere introspective reflections and the search for visual and spiritual peace to critical narratives and ironic commentary, employing a wide variety of media. One can encounter both traditional approaches, such as conceptual photographic series and photobooks or zines, and contemporary practices involving installation, 3D printing, 3D animation, and more. Despite its “sacred” theme, the exhibition never lapses into pathos but instead vividly illustrates the contemporary viewpoints of the youngest generation of artists working with photography.

For over twenty years, the Studio of Imaginative Photography at FAMU has been led by the renowned Czech-Slovak photographer Rudo Prekop. The studio operates across genres and modes of expression, synthesizing visual and conceptual thinking with artistic, documentary, multimedia, and other approaches. www.photography.famu.cz

The exhibition is part of the FOTOGRAFIC STARTUP platform, which is dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging artists—often students or recent graduates—at a pivotal stage in their young careers.
