DOMINIKA JACKULIAKOVÁ
Výstava: November 2026
Slovak photographer Dominika Jackuliaková has long explored issues of mobility, landscape memory, and the evolving relationship with home in her work. In her project R2, she captures the construction of a key highway link in southern Slovakia surrounding her hometown of Lučenec. The artist approaches this monumental concrete structure from both visual and anthropological perspectives, examining the impact of infrastructure on adjacent villages and the immediate surroundings. Through visually striking black-and-white imagery, she problematizes the acceleration of movement, the loss of isolation, and a fading local identity.
Dominika Jackuliaková (b. 1989) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. In 2023, she received the Urbanautica Institute Award, and in 2019, she was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited at venues such as the Slovak National Gallery, Kurzor Gallery in Prague, and Filter Space in Chicago. Her photographic series are featured in the collections of the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. www.jackuliakova.com
