In his photographic work, Ondřej Durczak has been exploring the region of Ostrava and Karvinsko, their historical legacy as well as their current form and way of depicting them. The exhibition in the Fotografic Gallery will primarily present the Karvinsko project, which deals with key landmarks of an important industrial region.
Ondřej Durczak (*1989) graduated from the Institute of Physics and at the same time from the Institute of Creative Photography of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the University of Silesia in Opava. He is now a teacher and doctoral student at the Institute of Creative Photography. In addition to many solo and group exhibitions, he has published photographic books Ostrava in Retirement (2015), Evidence of Discovery: Photography in Science in the years 1839-1939 (2017), Photographic publications of Vítkovice Ironworks (2018) and Karvinsko (2019). www.durczak.cz
